The Global Puzzle
Our piece in making our planet more beautiful
Across the festival week, conspiring to gift our planet the promise from each of us, we invite you to play your part in a collaborative work to bring
our daily piece to its home in our planetary puzzle. This is a series of functions, commencing in venues and workshops each day gravitating to
The Ceremonial Pond, creating a Procession to the Amphitheatre for the nightly installation into The Global Puzzle. The Last Piece will be revealed
in The Farewell Ceremony (formerly known as The Fire Event). We invite you to participate in any of the many parts in this year’s festival theme.
The Music Conspiracy
There are plans afoot for you to contribute your personal magic to each night’s Conspiracy.
Join these daily workshops with some of our absolute favourite festival musicians - The
Conspirators, in the build-up to our Farewell Ceremony. Everyone involved in these daily
workshops will enjoy being part of The Pond Conspiracy and The People’s Puzzle Procession
each night, culminating in the Farewell Ceremony. Come prepared for a large collaborative
daily musical event directed by Andrew Veivers and The Conspirators.
These are not ‘How to Play’ workshops. Bring your skills & enthusiasm to enjoy some great
ensemble playing. You should wear a combination of black or white for The Pond Conspiracy
Singing Conspiracy with Mr Percival
Mr Percival is the festival’s version of the Pied Piper – singers joyfully follow him venue to
venue, song to song, moment to moment. Bring your in-tune singing voices and sing loud.
DAILY Bazaar 8:00AM
Horns Conspiracy with Mal Webb
An absolute musical monster, Mal is well-known for his ubiquity at festivals and the joy and
humour of his shows. Bring your horns, didges and any heralding instrument.
DAILY Pineapple 9:30AM
Strings & Plucked Things Conspiracy with Andrew Clermont
Andrew has made a career out of gathering remarkable musicians together, onstage and off,
in every musical genre combination imaginable. BYO fiddles, guitars, mandolins – strings
definitely attached here.
DAILY Guinness 9:00AM
Winds & Reeds Conspiracy with Linsey Pollak
Where there’s music to be made, there’s Linsey – whether from carrots, cacti, or children.
Bring your pipes, whistles, flutes, sax, any reeds will do.
DAILY WorkShop 5:30PM
Percussion Conspiracy with Greg Sheehan
Tuned and un-tuned, man-made and earth-made, Greg is a percussion master and pioneer of
contemporary rhythm. You’ll need your clapping hands or percussion instrument.

The People’s Puzzle Procession
Each night, The Pond Conspirators spill over into the Festival in a nightly procession to the Amphitheatre,
parading the pieces of the puzzle that reveal themselves in totality at The Farewell Ceremony. Commencing in
performance venues, a piece of the puzzle will be formed and paraded to the Ceremonial Pond. There our Global
Conspirators, who have emerged from the workshops, conduct their ceremony each night and form The People’s
Puzzle Procession to guide and place our piece of the Globe at the Amphitheatre. Follow the People’s Puzzle
Procession each night after The Pond Conspiracy, take the First Step at the Welcome Ceremony, and be part of
the Last Piece at The Farewell Ceremony.
The Pond Conspiracy
At the Village Green each night there is a mysterious event as artists conspire to delight and entertain. There is
a mystery to be solved, a new piece to reveal each night, as each part of the puzzle emerges from the festival
itself. Music, floating lanter ns, singing and surprises greet the curious visitor. Directed by Deborah Fisher with The
Conspirators, The Light Workers, Light ‘n’ Up lanter neers and artists all.

Three Minutes of Silence
At 11.30pm, on the tolling of the Village
Bell, everyone is asked to be still and
silent for three minutes. We ask that you
use this special time to reflect on your
year that is passing, cast wishers for the
future and remember our absent friends.
Thank you for your respect. Candles will
be distributed at each venue to add light
to this moment.
