to mimic a hot summer day in India. This style of yoga
is usually practised in heated rooms with mirrors,

That’s right folks – the Blues Jams are back,
hosted by members of the legendary Spirits Blues
Band, as it was 20 years ago. Get your name on
the list for an opportunity to perform on the blues
stage, and a possibility of an invite to perform with
some blues legends at the All-Star Jam Party too.

Blues Opening Concert
To set the mood, energy and diverse nature of the
blues and roots, the explosive young artist Kim
Churchill opens the Blues and Roots venue. He
will be followed by one of Australia’s fnest and
most respected guitar players Jeff Lang, blending
the sounds and styles of two generations of
remarkably talented artists into one hot gig.

Bob Hawke: Unionists – Wreckers
Bob Hawke, former Australian Prime Minister and
former President of The Australian Council of Trade
Unions, draws from both historical and cultural
perspectives to ascertain the worldwide union
movement’s historical contribution and continued
relevance to society.

Learn to hit the goat-skinned Irish drum in jig and
reel time, in a way that won’t encourage people to hit
you. A workshop with The Barleyshakes for anyone
who likes hitting things.

Bodhran Irish Drumming Workshop
Master bodhran player Kevin Kelly introduces you to
Irish drumming and the bodhran in this interactive
and hands-on workshop. Learn basic jigs and reels,
and interactive bodhran rhythms. Irishman Kevin
is performing with Angela Little’s Celtic Fire. He is
currently in the Guiness Book of World Records for
running the largest Bodhran Irish Drum workshop,
and regularly runs workshops and performs

Body Percussion Workshop
A great way to become rhythmatised. Learn rhythms
through hand-clapping, body-slapping, walking and
counting. See a way into Greg’s unique, physical and
fun Numbers System. New rhythms will be introduced
at each workshop. Though you are encouraged to
come to every session, it is not imperative. Bring
water and wear loose, cool clothing. Suitable for ages
13 - 80, and no experience is necessary.

So what is Bogan Bingo? Apart from being the
world’s frst-ever rock and roll bingo super group,
Bogan Bingo is a comedy game show that provides
a hilarious night for pubs, work places and social
events available now all around the world. During two
games of Bingo, our bingo calls rhyme with songs
from the 80s and 90s, and get everyone in touch with
their ‘inner bogan’. When it comes to jumping on the
bogan bandwagon, well, they’ve taken it apart in the
garage and re-built it.

Carnivale parade dancing is popular with young and
older generations in Bolivia. Learn the techniques,
choreographies and steps of these easy to learn
upbeat dances with Romina and Javier.

Learn a few Bollywood moves with Bollywood
Dhamaka in this great fun, great Indian dance
experience. Beginners are welcome.

Bollywood dance is a celebration of joy, and luckily,
it’s also easy to learn and fun to do. The music and
dances taught are drawn from Bollywood and South

Anu and Sandeep Nanjappa will teach you the ever-

Book Launch: Backwards
Longtime festival poet David Hallett has fnally
compiled a fascinating 35 year collection of his
performance poetry, titled Backwards. The book
launch will be celebrated with a bevy of festival poets,
including Robin Archbold and Len Martin, reciting
works from the new collection.

In June of 2009, Jay Bishoff, author and working
musician, attempted to hitchhike across America
with a camera in hand and a rag tag flm crew on his
trail and a notebook in his back pocket. The journey
renewed Jay’s faith in humanity and challenged fear-
based ideas that keep people from reaching out.

Body for Emotional Well-being
Yoga Master Simon Borg-Olivier teaches how to
increase your ftness while your heart and lungs
work less. Unique YogaSynergy strategies can allow
you to do strenuous activities while remaining calm
and relaxed. Simon teaches physical concentration
methods and natural breathing techniques that
eventually lead to the meditative state.

Briefs, An All Male Boylesque
In an all-male sharp shootin’ cabaret of burlesque
with balls, high-fying circus bandits, and savage
gender offenders, this rag-tag team of skilled
buccaneers invite you to an evening of wicked
humour, gob smacking physicality, absurdity, piss
take and blatant displays of fesh. From its humble
and dysfunctional beginnings in 2008 Briefs has
packed out audiences in Brisbane, at the Parlour last
year, Adelaide Fringe and Gold Coast Fringe Festivals.

Guitarist Aaron Hopper launches his
frst guitar song book. Containing
transcriptions of his new compositions
for solo guitar and a few of the favourite
stringmansassy tunes, Aaron will
demonstrate techniques and give
instruction on how to play selections of
the songs transcribed within the book.
